Tree Theater Group was born in 2018 in Tehran when my friends and I, with some of the students from the Cinema & Theatre Faculty at Tehran University of Art, came together to work on Hamletmachine, a powerful and challenging text. From that moment, we knew we wanted to explore more. Our focus has always been on finding contemporary interpretations of classical and essential texts. We see theater as a space where different artistic elements come together, creating something rich and complex. For us, theater is a dialogue—a conversation between the performers and the audience, where both sides feel connected and understood.
Tree Theater Group isn’t just about performing; it's about creating a deep connection. As an Artistic Director, I’ve had the honor of continuously working with incredibly talented performers like Amin Simiar, Negar Salahshoor, and Hossein Jozejavadi, and sound and video designers like Omid Dolatkhah and Mehdi Bakhshi as well as many wonderful guest performers and designers over the years.
